Miki works at the intersection of creativity, business, and sustainable innovation. For two decades, he has worked for private and publicly traded apparel companies in New York, Milan, and Vancouver, covering the complete lifecycle of textiles — from material research and development to sourcing, testing, and circularity solutions. With deep expertise in fabric development, he helps scale Next Generation materials and optimize global supply chains. Miki holds a Master’s in Sustainability from Harvard University, where he focused his studies on advanced recycling technologies for the apparel industry.
More about me
I was born in Peru of Japanese descent. At 19, I moved to the U.S. to study, which led me to a career in fashion and textiles. I started working in New York, where I gained hands-on experience in fabric development and sourcing. For the past decade, I’ve called Vancouver home. Living here has further connected me to sustainability and environmental responsibility. Other than fashion, my personal interests are city hikes, listening to non-fiction audiobooks, languages, and binge-watching TV shows! I approach my work with curiosity, collaboration, and a drive to challenge the status quo in the apparel industry.
