More about me
At home and during my travels, I have been exposed to the devastation of our environment through deforestation, poaching of endangered animals, destruction of habitats, and dumping in oceans, lakes, and rivers. I have witnessed the untold suffering of marginalized populations. My participation, however small, in working for Canopy and other INGOs that create positive change, makes a huge difference.
Why forests are important to me
Forests provide us with oxygen. A forest that gave me sanctuary growing up was the 30,000-hectare Mabira Forest in Uganda. We grew up visiting the forest and driving on the 80 km commute from the capital to Jinja through the forest canopy, which was and still is an eye-catching and thrilling experience. After relocating, I have learned more about recycling, reusable alternatives, alternative packaging, and conscious purchasing to preserve forests.
Why Canopy
I love working for Canopy because of their values and culture, particularly their approach to work. Exemplary work is done in a casual and fun setting.
Ask me about
I love family and friends. Hanging out with the people I care about is fulfilling. The pandemic was a game-changer for me. It reconfirmed that we are on borrowed time and must make the most of it while here. And I love shopping too.
What ruffles my feathers
Injustice and ignorance.
Just like a dove, I adapt easily to every situation and environment. Doves are also sociable and affectionate and form strong bonds. Their nurturing behaviour extends to their young, providing a caring and protective environment just like I do with mine.
