More about me
I am a Biochemical Civil Engineer and Environmental Engineer, combined with an MBA. I originally started my career in innovation and the environment and worked closely with like-minded folks who want to save our planet. As I delved deeper into the environmental world, I became more involved in conservation and community work. For over a decade, I have dedicated my energy to protecting wetlands, temperate forests, and oceans across Chile and Latin America.
Why forests are important to me
The forest is my jam! Growing up amidst the Norwegian forests in the northern part of the planet, and later finding inspiration in the southern forests of Chile, I enjoy the sights, sounds, and smells of the woods like a child. The forest renews my spirit, but I am also well aware of the importance of biodiversity for the health of our planet and its people. Maintaining a balance between consumption and biodiversity protection is crucial. And I love hiking and having deep conversations with my daughter, family, and conservation colleagues. I have been lucky enough to spot pumas, Magellanic woodpeckers, penguins, and even Darwin’s foxes, among other wonders of nature.
Why Canopy
Canopy is where my heart lies now. The organization’s innovative vision bridges supply chains, businesses, and nature conservation. It’s all about reducing raw material consumption, innovating in materials, and steering clear of ancient forest resources. Canopy is paving the way, engaging the corporate sector, and inviting them to collaborate through information, science, and innovation. And let’s not forget, it’s a super fun place to be, filled with motivated colleagues who are blazing trails and aiming for the 2030 goals. Something we should all be doing!
