Saving forests starts with better paper choices.

EcoPaper Database

Conserving forests is one of the fastest, most effective ways to stabilize our climate.

Leading and robust life cycle analyses consistently demonstrate that papers and packaging with high recycled and/or Next Gen (agricultural residue) content have a significantly reduced overall footprint as compared to those with Ancient and Endangered Forest fibre.

Therefore, this list includes Ancient Forest Friendly™ and other packaging and paper products that use high amounts of lower footprint feedstock.

Whether you’re looking for Recycled, Next Gen Solutions (agricultural residue), or FSC certified content, look for it here.

    EcoPaper Database criteria for inclusion

Criteria for inclusion is based on the Paper Steps, developed with and endorsed by the Environmental Paper Network.  ‘Not Ranked’ products are missing information. Please see ‘Notes’ on the second page for more detail.

The information in each listing is based on voluntary data disclosure and publicly available information. Product specifications and/or availability are subject to change at any time.

If you manufacture or sell recycled and Next Gen paper products you think should be added to this list, or have an update to include, please email epd@canopyplanet.org.

Please see Canopy’s positions on Bamboo and Cotton Linter.  We recommend asking producers of products with agricultural wastes and fibres to obtain RSB certification. Learn more about FSC Labels here.
