You’ll bring together your science and conservation networks to amplify our research reach, lead the charge on groundbreaking forest solutions, and mentor the next generation of conservation researchers.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Work with the Impact team to define goals and carve out research strategies that guide our campaigns.
  • Lead, coach, and grow our Senior Researcher while overseeing cross-functional research projects.
  • Utilize tools like ForestMapper and the EcoPaper Database to harness insights that challenge misleading environmental narratives.

What We’re Looking For:

  • A Master's degree in a related field (Environmental Science, Forestry, Ecology, etc.).
  • Five or more years of leading research projects, with experience in strategy, team management, and collaboration.
  • Expertise in data analysis, research design, and making numbers talk to all audiences.
  • Strong knowledge of forest conservation, climate change, biodiversity, and Indigenous land rights.
  • Proficiency with research tools, databases, and software (mapping tools, GIS, etc.).
  • Excellent communication skills, team spirit, and a great sense of humour!

How to Apply:

  • 1. Complete an exercise

Can you describe a time when you designed and led a research project? How did you plan the process, identify the key research questions, and handle any challenges along the way? What was the outcome? (300-500 words max)

  • 2. Send us a Cover Letter and CV

Send us a Cover Letter and CV detailing why you’re the perfect fit for this role, addressed to the hiring panel, along with the exercise above and email to chiefcharmer@canopyplanet.org and mark the subject line “Curious Fox!”
