Risk of sourcing from Ancient and Endangered Forests

Low Risk

AceGreen published a CanopyStyle Audit in 2021. The audit identified potential risk in their supply chain, but AceGreen has taken action and confirmed that these sourcing changes remain in effect.

Areas where the company is showing leadership

  • Completed its first CanopyStyle Audit and took action to eliminate risk.
  • Has an internal traceability system to trace from fibre to garment.
  • Has called on the UN Climate COP30 to prioritize financial mechanisms to support circularity and nature-based climate solutions.
  • AceGreen has developed a product containing recycled cotton inputs.
  • Launched a pilot recycled fibre product line with Inditex-owned Zara and is working with other brands on pilot product line potential.

Key Improvements Required

  • Continue to invest in research and development efforts to develop and significantly scale the use of Next Generation Solutions in order to reduce impacts on forests and meet the company’s stated goal to use 50% recycled raw materials
  • The company should plan for their next CanopyStyle Audit in 2026.
  • Continue to prioritize sourcing higher volumes of FSC 100% certified fibre when virgin fibres are unavoidable.
  • Continue to use ForestMapper and complementary guidance documents such as the Dissolving Pulp Mill Classification to ensure no sourcing from Ancient and Endangered Forests.

Facilities

AceGreen is an innovative manufacturer committed to increased use of Next Gen fibre. It makes lyocell filament yarn in one facility, located in Ershui Township, Changhua County, Taiwan.

AceGreen has an annual capacity of 1,500 tonnes, with recent production at 1,500 tonnes per year. The lyocell facility has been registered on the ZDHC platform and will be assessed for other models in the coming years.
