VOGUE BUSINESS: How fashion is distancing itself from deforestation

Fashion is using fewer fabrics associated with deforestation in ancient and endangered forests, signalling the push for sustainability is improving supply chains, according to a new report from campaign group Canopy.

On Thursday, the Canadian nonprofit published its annual look at where fibre producers source the pulp that they turn into man-made cellulosic fibres including viscose and rayon. For the first time, more than half of the global viscose supply is verified as not coming from ancient and endangered forests.
