Newspaper Environmental Industry Vision

Over the course of 2010-2011, a Canadian and American working group of newspaper industry stakeholders from publishing, newsprint manufacturing, and environmental non-profits who work with the newspaper sector, have forged an environmental vision. The voluntary document encourages responsible paper purchasing and sends a statement to newsprint manufacturers that consumers are interested in more environmentally sustainable products at a comparable price and consistent quality. The Newspaper Industry Environmental Vision also provides endorsing companies an opportunity to improve their corporate reputation and brand with an increasingly environmentally aware public. Participants are looking to broaden support for the vision.
