Making a Commitment to Ancient & Endangered Forests

Since 1999, Canopy has worked with publishers and printers to reduce the biodiversity and carbon footprints of the North American publishing, printing and paper industries. Such a commitment is usually made through a formal Ancient Forest Friendly™ or eco-paper policy with input from Canopy. Once a policy is signed a publisher or printer becomes a Canopy signatory. The following is a list of the companies who have formally committed to eliminating their use of papers derived from endangered forests through means such as using high-recycled content, FSC certified wood fibre and agricultural residues.

Combined, Transcontinental’s newspapers reach an average of two million readers a week.
